We are seeking an Accountant to support our client in the Alexandria VA area. This position will analyze financial information and prepare financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within an organization.
Duties and responsibilities may include:
o Reconcile complex general ledger accounts monthly including research and resolution of discrepancies
o Reconcile sub-ledgers to GL as required
o Maintain and enhance financial systems and reporting mechanisms
o Prepare monthly journal entries and supporting schedules
o Participate in month end, quarter end and year end closings
o Communicate with team members from other functional areas as well as external sources
o Comply with Internal controls and best practices, and assist in other accounting projects as requested
o Provide information for auditors and other special projects
This accountant should demonstrate ability in the following areas:
o Accountability and drive for results - strong customer focus and collaborative skills
o Change Agent - ability and readiness to embrace and successfully drive/implement change
o Functional/technical skills- strong fundamentals in accounting and accounting processes
o Team player; comfort in operating within a dynamic, complex organizational structure
