Under moderate supervision, this position assists in the design, and provides the technical support, administration and maintenance of IDA's network and server systems and services. Responsibilities include the coverage of Help Desk tickets and Change Requests, participation on assigned project teams, building and testing new systems to design standards, and maintaining the optimum performance of all systems and services. Responsibilities also include those of general server maintenance: applying system patches, performing upgrades, maintaining access controls, installing operating systems and application software, troubleshooting system problems, and following proper disposal and decommissioning procedures for retired systems. This
position will also prepare new systems for network and data communications while ensuring that these system configurations meet the intended requirements and are compatible with existing systems and network services. Due to the nature of this position, and the requirement for extended coverage, this position may be required to work hours outside of a regular schedule.
1. Builds new physical and virtual systems to design specifications and follows proper disposal procedures for retired systems. Ensures all systems meet or exceed the intended business and security requirements and comply with IDA's minimum configuration standard and configuration management guidelines. Ensures all systems are properly configured to communicate with the corporate asset management system.
2. Administers and maintains the systems and services, internal and external, physical and virtual, on IDA's classified and unclassified networks, to include standalone systems and services, to ensure optimum performance and availability.
3. Provides technical support and responds to all assigned Help Desk tickets and Change Requests. Works with senior analysts when necessary to quickly resolve critical system or service outages. Escalates issues as needed.
4. Performs patch management, software deployments, and network operations for the systems and services within their area of responsibility.
5. Conducts regular system maintenance to include monitoring, tuning, capacity planning, and adjusting configurations as necessary to resolve problems, minimize downtime, and to enhance capabilities. Systems can be identified as, but are not limited to, servers, workstations, networks, appliances, remote access systems, NOC, and SOC systems.
6. Partners with senior system administrators on new IT initiatives then assumes a maintenance role once these initiatives are implemented. Assists in the design of effective processes for the roll-out and continued service of all IT initiatives to include daily service and support functions.
7. Assists in the design, build and delivery of reliable disaster recovery and backup systems.
8. Participates in developing testing and integration plans for new systems and software in order to ensure compatibility with IDA's current network IT infrastructure.
9. Builds the metric reports and recommends improvements to ensure the availability of accurate alerts, reports and dashboards.
10. Maintains technical proficiency as new software and hardware technologies are implemented at IDA. Keeps abreast of new and developing IT technologies and makes recommendations, as appropriate, to improve or correct IDA's services and system performance.
11. Assists in maintaining technical documentation libraries, to include the development and publication of standard operating procedures for systems and processes under their control.
12. Assists Information Security Analysts collect system security audits and perform Computer Emergency Response Team actions.
13. Responds to critical after hours support issues.
14. Communicates all computer network, system and service problems and outages immediately to the Server Operations Supervisor and/or EITO Manager.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Must have an ACTIVE Top Secret Clearance.
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in related field.
Four years minimum experience in system administration and trouble-shooting networked systems. Requires a working knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, backup systems, networking, e-mail and web services, and remote access methodologies.
Four or more years experience with Windows operating systems; experience with Mac, UNIX, Linux and network system administration desired.
Experience with data backup systems, asset management tools, SANs, VoIP, and virtual machines desired.
Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form and with all levels of employees; possess good interpersonal skills.
Project management experience a plus
Must be willing to work hours outside of a regular schedule.
Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearances.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
