9K a year MCD is seeking a Facilities Electrical Subject Matter Expert - to join our Facilities, engineering, Operations and Maintenance team.
The Electrical Subject Matter Expert will need to have a broad understanding of electrical system and equipment function and will be responsible for procedure-based electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, training, testing, and maintenance oversight.
The candidate will need to be experienced in Low Voltage & Medium Voltage power distribution, electrical protection & controls systems, battery systems, electrical testing, applicable electrical codes & standards, and have a basic understanding of mechanical systems.
Electrical Subject Matter Expert
Responsibilities:
Serve as primary onsite technical resource of electrical infrastructure systems and equipment, with an emphasis on practical/field application.
Perform and lead preventive maintenance activities including LV and MV transformers, LV and MV circuit breakers, and various relay types.
Create MOPs/SOPs to cover electrical troubleshooting, repair, retrofit, and maintenance activities, with an emphasis on assessing & mitigating personnel and system risk.
Coordinate with the customer as necessary, including communication of work start/stop, clarification of impacts, and any system deficiencies.
Conduct or oversee hands-on troubleshooting, repair, retrofit, and maintenance of electrical equipment.
Lead and/or participate in root-cause analysis activities in area of expertise.
Provide training to Facility Engineers, technicians and other cross functional teams on electrical equipment/systems, procedures, and changes.
Provide feedback on electrical maintenance strategies and electrical system design improvements.
Perform other duties as required to support the operations at WHS.
Position Requirement:
HS Diploma and 12
years of experience in the electrical industry with at least 5 years in leadership responsible for budget, schedule, and delivery.
Intermediate relay testing experience.
NICET or NETA II certification required, NICET/NETA III/IV preferred.
Ability to work on fifth shift (7PM Friday - 7:
15AM Saturday, 7PM Saturday - 7:
15AM Sunday, 7PM Sunday - 7:
15AM Monday) Individual must possess excellent communication skills and tact to work directly with customers, senior management, supervisory personnel, trade partners.
Ability to proactively identify and resolve technical issues to include technical and design issues, operational challenges, work procedures, and potential customer concerns and complaints.
Eligibility to obtain a HSPD-12 Clearance.
Desire:
NETA and IEEE standards knowledge or desire and demonstrated ability to ramp up in this area of knowledge.
Experience working with software testing tools.
Experience in obtaining vendor quotes.
Experience in operational risk management and knowledge of safety and quality control requirements.
Proficient in reading drawings, schematics and interpreting and understanding statements of work (SOW).
Abilities:
