Spacecraft Ground Systems Engineer

Qwaltec is seeking a Spacecraft Ground Systems Engineer in Greenbelt, MD to support new and existing NASA projects.
This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core services and systems.

Responsibilities:
In this position the candidate will provide ground system sustainment and operations support and perform the following duties:
Evaluate, assess, and propose functional operability enhancementsSupport design and development reviews regarding future builds and capabilitiesInfluence regression test and associated artifacts to ensure operabilityProvide technical and operational feedback for future releasesEnsure discrepancies are documented and addressed according to severity and priorityParticipate in the Ground Project Discrepancy Report BoardReview updates to operational products and processes to support operationsEnsure the data integrity to future builds are completed to support mission requirementsDevelop and execute Anomaly and Test Scenarios against ops simulators for current missionsDevelop and execute operational readiness exercises for follow-on missions in coordination with Mission Readiness teamProvide technical analysis of simulated and operational data to verify functionality of future releases
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field (Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Space Systems)Desired
Experience:
General understanding of weather products produced from Polar satellites (preferred)Experience using configuration management tools and services such as SharePoint and JIRA (preferred)Familiarity with analysis software, such as Matlab and Simulink (preferred)Good awareness of satellite operationsGood awareness of orbital mechanicsGood ability to grasp and apply new information quicklyGood ability to handle more complex assignments as experience progressesShows initiative on assignments, and professionally executes projects with little directionClear understanding of Microsoft Office applicationsExcellent written and verbal communications skillsCompany OverviewQwaltec is a Women Owned Small Business (WOSB) specializing in Space Systems Operations.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
