(MTSI) is seeking a junior level MBSE Engineer , to join our team at MTSI's Alexandria, VA office.
You will support a new NASA Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Project Office focused on overcoming the key technical, regulatory, and social challenges facing the urban air mobility (UAM) business case, which includes both scheduled and on-demand air transportation of passenger and cargo around metropolitan areas.
In support to the NASA AAM Project, personnel will also work closely with Industry and the Federal Aviation Administration on addressing the challenges mentioned above.

Responsibilities:
As a junior level MBSE Engineer , with MTSI you will be primarily responsible for architecting, developing, and managing a model-based system engineering (MBSE) environment for capturing all project content.
This person should be familiar with Magic Draw, as this is the primary MBSE tool we use.
This position will work closely with NASA employees from each of the NASA Aeronautics Research Centers as well as several AAM vehicle developers.
Additionally, this position will also provide project management and systems engineer support to MTSI's Hypersonic Modeling, Simulation and Analysis Team, as needed.
The position will be located at MTSI's Alexandria, VA office and will need to periodically participate in local meetings in the Washington DC Metro Area.
Infrequent travel to one or more NASA's Aviation Research Centers may also be required.
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
This individual will be primarily responsible for executing the model-based systems engineering (MBSE) effort.
You will also provide project management and systems engineer support to MTSI's Hypersonic Modeling, Simulation and Analysis Team.
You should have experience implementing systems engineering processes using MBSE Tools.
You should have familiarity with unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and/or advanced air mobility (AAM) vehicles; and FAA Airspace rules and regulations.
Qualifications:

years' related work experience.
Demonstrated ability to devise solutions for complex problems that require in-depth analysis of tangible and intangible factors.
Experience with the Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach to systems engineering.
Experience working as a member of a multidisciplinary project team that may include engineers, scientists, designers, and technicians.
Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary to effectively collaborate in a team environment; present and explain technical information to colleagues, management, or sponsors.
Desired Requirements:
Proficient using systems engineering modeling tools (e.
g.
, CORE, Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw or MapleMBSE) to support system requirements, design, analysis, verification & validation, and continuing throughout development and later life-cycle phases.
Understanding of versioning control and database management.
Understanding of frameworks such as Unified Architecture Framework (UAF), Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Tactical Open Government Architecture Framework (TOGAF) and languages such as Unified Modeling Language (UML) and System Modeling Language (SysML).
Project management experience, to include management of project budget, administrative requirements, and deliverable tracking.
Engineering experience with designing, assembling, or testing aerospace hardware.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in aerospace, Systems or Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Clearance Requirements:
Active Secret security clearance with the potential to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
