Geospatial Analyst
Description Looking for an opportunity to make an impact?The Mission Operations Division within the Airborne Solutions Operations (ASO) of the Leidos Defense Group has multiple openings for Geospatial Analysts to work in Alexandria, VA, at Leidos offices.
The successful candidate is interested in pursuing a career in Geospatial Analysis or Airborne ISR with a willingness and desire to process and disseminate high-resolution 3D geospatial LiDAR and electro-optical imagery information.
THE CHALLENGE (primary responsibilities) Understand the collection process to obtain wide-area mapping imagery and LiDAR data Process wide-area mapping imagery and LiDAR data Ensure proper collection of data for accuracy and quality Color balance and orthorectify imagery, mosaic imagery into seamless maps Process GPS trajectories, edit LiDAR point clouds, and create digital elevation models Perform QA/QC and ensure proper data management Complete necessary logs and data transfer duties WHAT SETS YOU APART (basic qualifications) Bachelor's degree or four years of work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree Able to perform work in Alexandria, VA at Leidos and customer facilities Able and willing to learn processing techniques Comfortable with computer technology and digital data formats Keen attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong people skills for collaborating with others, communication with your supervisor, and speaking with customers Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance Preferred Qualifications, not required.
Education or experience in Geography, GIS, or related discipline Practical geospatial analysis experience (professional or volunteer) Previous experience with commercial-off-the-shelf geospatial software such as ESRI ArcGIS, QGIS, Microstation, TerraScan, Correlator 3D, QT Modeler, Inertial Explorer, Pospac, etc.
Formal training as a Geospatial Analyst as well as familiarity with ISR applications, tools, and systems AIRBORNEISRPay Range:
Pay Range $39,650.
00 - $61,000.
00 - $82,350.
