DESCRIPTIONMichael Baker International is seeking an enthusiastic, articulate, motivated Project Architect II to join our dynamic and growing Architectural team at our Alexandria, VA office.
A current focus of our team is on growing the Federal (Department of Defense - DoD), Federal Civilian (non-DoD) Agencies, Transit, State and Municipal project opportunities, along with market-driven diversification including Commercial, Transit, Infrastructure, Mixed use, Industrial and Adaptive Re-Use.
The successful candidate will be an architect who demonstrates significant experience delivering their large, complex Architectural/Engineering (A/E) projects, including Design/Build delivery, that includes geographically dispersed, multi-disciplinary, collaborative project design teams composed of architects, civil engineers, building systems engineers and interior designers.

This position is considered hybrid and can work remotely but will be expected to report to the Alexandria office 1-2 days a week.
Other essential skills include creative problem-solving, organizational skills, combined creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and a good understanding of construction documents and constructability.
Lead, in responsible charge of, multi-discipline design teams through development of project design and construction documentation, from project inception through as-built documentation, in collaboration with the Project Manager Perform activities and produce documentation associated with design, construction, and contract documents, including products and systems research, code analysis, studies, field documentation, reports, sketches, drawings, specifications, and design analysis Manage the project architectural team, including preparing work plan, and maintaining quality, budget, and schedule Applies industry knowledge of architectural customs, building codes, practices and procedures to solve design challenges.
Supervise and direct the work of architectural support staff assigned to the project Foster team collaboration and support staff development Along with the Project Manager and other team members, communicate with clients during development of project program and scope, design fees, schedule, and budget Engage with clients, consultants, and subject matter experts during development of projects Administer procurement phase and construction phase activities, including:
review bids/proposals, review construction submittals, answer Requests for Information, review pay applications, and conduct periodic on-site observation of projects under construction Prepare documents using computer assisted software Perform quality assurance activities for assigned projects and perform quality control reviews for other teams' projects Maintain proficiency in software related to the practice of architecture Pursue continuing education to maintain professional expertise and credentials Assist leadership and business development teams with growth planning and actively engage in project pursuits Travel occasionally, as required for project meetings and on-site work PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS Bachelor of in Architecture or equivalent.

years of experience in architectural design and construction documentation role.
Registered Architect (RA) required.
LEED accreditation will be a plus.
Additional credentials and certifications are a plus (in such areas of specifications writing, sustainability, project management, and business development) Experience with a variety of project procurement methods, including design-bid-build and design-build.
Strong leadership, organization, communication skill.
Knowledge of zoning and building codes.
Multitasking ability in fast paced environment.
Knowledge of Building Information Modeling Autodesk Revit 2021 , BIM 360 and Microsoft Office Suite.
COMPENSATIONThe approximate compensation range for this position is $107,921 to $148,409.
This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
