Our certified and credentialed cost engineers and cost estimators routinely support the planning, design and construction of domestic and international construction and environmental projects for the Department of State, Department of Defense, civilian federal agencies, and state/local municipalities.
Our team is highly proficient with current, customer-preferred software, including MII , PACES , P6 , Sage Estimating , and SUCCESS .
DESCRIPTIONMichael Baker International is seeking energetic, experienced individuals with entrepreneurial vision, business development acumen, and operational experience to join its growing Cost Management business unit.
Cost Management provides cost management, cost control, cost estimating, value engineering, scheduling, and consulting services for new construction and renovation projects ranging from $1 million to $5 billion in construction costs.
Clients include federal agencies (Dept.
of State, US Army Corps of Engineers, DOE/NNSA and DHS), architects, engineers, and private corporations.
Projects include specialized facilities, administrative buildings, hospitals, diplomatic facilities, museums, commercial buildings, schools and infrastructure located in over 120 countries.
We are poised for significant growth and expanding our capabilities in cost engineering, project controls, risk management, and other related cost management services.
This position reports to our Department Manager - Cost Control.
The successful candidate will provide cost control & estimating services as part of a cost management team working for federal agencies, state/municipal and private sector clients.
The position is based in Alexandria, VA.
Assignment for this individual will be with the CM PMO team currently located in Los Alamos, NM with a current flexible workplace arrangement and will require periodic travel to the project location.
The ideal candidate will have experience providing cost control, cost analysis, cost estimating, cost forecasting, and related services on CONUS and OCONUS projects, plus a background working in the federal sector, preferably with Department of Energy.
Successful candidates should have advanced level skills and experience in several of the following categories:
Cost Estimating Project Management/Team Leadership Planning and Scheduling Project Cost Control with Earned Value Management Constructability Analysis Creation and development of technical work products (cost estimates and related products) Develop and edit technical reports Communications and Reporting Establish and maintain client relationships QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Minimum 15 years' experience in the A/E or construction industry 3
year experience with U.
S.
Government clients, preferably in a Cost Control/Estimating role Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related fields Client management experience Holds or can obtain a security clearance Demonstrated knowledge of cost control/estimating principals and procedures, earned value management, construction methods, and related industry experience Demonstrated knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in understanding and use of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models Demonstrated knowledge and ability to use cost engineering software such as:
MII, PACES, SUCCESS, SAGE/Timberline, PlanSwift OTO, ACUMEN FUSE, PRIMAVERA P6 and others OTHER DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Existing contacts within U.

Federal Government based A/E/C community Overseas Experience on U.
S.
Federal Government projects and/or U.

based corporations Certification(s) or the ability to obtain one from AACE International, PMI, CMAA or similar organizations COMPENSATIONThe approximate compensation range for this position is $116,084 to $172,657.
This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
