7K a year Acting under the general supervision of the National Executive Director (NED), the Office Assistant is responsible for handling clerical tasks within our national headquarters office.
The Office Assistant will be a highly organized and motivated individual committed to BVA's values, with a passion for serving blind and low vision veterans, their families, and caregivers.
JOB FUNCTIONS Handling incoming calls and other communications.
Managing filing system.
Recording information as needed.
Greeting members and visitors as needed.
Updating paperwork, maintaining documents, and word processing.
Helping organize and maintain office common areas.
Performing general office clerk duties and errands.
Organizing travel by booking accommodation and reservation needs as required.
Coordinating events as necessary.
Maintaining supply inventory.
Maintaining office equipment as needed.
Creating, maintaining, and entering information into databases.
Experience as a virtual assistant.
Performs other related work as required.
QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or Associate's degree Minimum of two years'experience as an office assistant or in a related field Ability to write clearly and perform word processing when necessary Warm personality with strong communication skills Ability to work well under limited supervision Great communication skills Valid driver's license STANDARDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Physical Requirements:
Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including computers, keyboards, calculators, copiers, facsimile machines, camera, projector, smart phones, etc.
Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Physical demand requirements are for those for light work.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
