Duties:
Provide public affairs program support services in response to public queries received through multiple media, to include telephonic, written correspondence, and electronic means.
Provide public affairs program support including research, writing, editing, preparing presentations and processing and responding to public inquiries, invitations, and requests directed to senior officials.
Conduct the daily sorting, assessment, prioritization, and assignment of the letters, phone calls, requests and queries received from the public.
Employ custom software package to analyze approximately 300-400 incoming citizen queries submitted per week with the capability to handle surges of up to 2,000 queries per week through public Web site and email.
Perform the download and processing of approximately 75-250 digital voicemails each day, recording these voicemail messages into data files, as necessary, within two hours of receipt on duty days by recording the general message of the voicemail into a software database so that these public phone queries can be answered and closed out.
Process approximately 300 postal mail items each week from an administrative officer, convert these to digital form and then conduct the sorting, analysis, prioritization and assignment process within the published standards.
Abilities:
Must be able to effectively communicate in English verbally and orally.
Proficient in MS Office Suite applications of Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experienced in developing briefings and other presentations and writing news and feature articles for Web sites or in print publications.
Knowledgeable of sound communications and mass media tactics and techniques, and knowledge of Defense Department issues.
Education/
Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years experience in a public affairs-type environment.
Minimum of Bachelors degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related discipline.
One (1) year experience.
Salary will be commensurate with experience/skills.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
