Independently perform patentability, validity, infringement and freedom-to-operate patent and technical literature searches in electrical engineering and physical sciences field.
Use non-traditional databases and search resources such as technical libraries and catalog collections with some direction in performing above-mentioned searches.
Independently develop search strategies based on the purpose of the search.
Scope and prepare time and cost estimates for approval by Senior Patent Analyst, Team Leader or Director according to search parameters and using industry standard databases and scoping techniques with limited supervision.
Manage entire projects regarding patentability, validity, infringement and freedom-to-operate patent and technical literature searches from scoping to completion of deliverable with minimal oversight; directly communicate with customers throughout the project.
Perform quality review of projects and deliverables including providing feedback and guidance to colleagues and peers on both the technology being investigated and the search strategy and approach.
Work at a mastery level standard on databases including PatBase, Orbit and Thomson Innovation and technology specific databases.
Requirements: Masters or PhD in Engineering Physics or closely related with 2 years exp filing/searching patents.
