Essential Job Duties and
Responsibilities:
_Evolver is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer to work in Alexandria, VA._
Provide administrative support and consultation services for the network infrastructure systems at USPTO;
The individual should be familiar with but not limited to vendors such as Juniper, F5, Riverbed, and Cisco;
Hardware support will be specifically on routers, switches, load balancers, WAN accelerators, and VPN concentrators maintained by the United States Patent and Trademark Office's Network Security Operations Division;
Responsible for configuration, maintenance and problem isolation associated with the various systems and identification and implementation of patches to the applications and firmware running on them;
Maintain high customer service levels by coordinating with team members, other internal organizations, vendors, and USPTO customers.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum six years recent experience with the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Cisco network infrastructure systems in a minimum 5,000 user environment. Experience in VLAN, port, and ACL configuration, IOS upgrades, connecting devices to the network, and optimization of network routers and switches. Strong knowledge of OSPF, BGP, ANYCAST, and other routing protocols. CCNP/CCIE level knowledge required;
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex routing and switching issues, to take ownership of network problems and resolve start to finish, outlining testing and resolution steps and communicating clearly with the customer. Ability to work independently and as an integral part of the team required;
Experience using Cisco ACS or equivalent and NCM;
Riverbed WAN Accelerator configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting. Cascade, Steelheads, working with end users, vendors, and other support groups to identify latency, troubleshoot issues, outline test cases for solutions and communicate effectively with management;
VPN configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting (Jupiter SA a plus). Working with end users, vendors and other support groups to identify latency, troubleshoot issues, outline test cases for solutions and communicate effectively with management;
Ability to work with monitoring group to identify and tune actionable alerts on network devices, especially Cisco, Riverbed, and VPN devices.
Technical Requirements (required and desired):
F5 LTM load balancer configuration and maintenance (node, VIP, profile, and health check creation);
Experience with HP Open View Management Enterprise monitoring;
A working knowledge of UNIX, DNS, DHCP, IPv6;
Juniper routers and switches experience.3 years' experience using Cisco ACS or equivalent and NCM;

RSA Authentication Manager SecureID;
