Helios HR is seeking an Associate Video Editor, Digital Products, to join an Integrated Media team for our clientASCD, a non-profit membership association for educators.
This individual will be responsible for editing short and long form video for web, streaming and multimedia productions from concept to completion for both internal and external clients, and creating and editing motion graphics, shooting, producing, and directing as assigned. The Associate Editor will collaborate with the Executive Producer and multimedia team to determine the best approach for the various projects and work closely with clients to produce top-quality productions within determined budgets.
Edits short and long form video for web, multimedia productions, and for sale digital products.
Shoots video, produces and directs as needed.
Performs camera operations as videographer.
Creates motion graphics for video productions and a wide range of multimedia products.
Coordinates projects requiring advanced editing, animations, and graphics
Assists colleagues with shoots, acting as a crew member as needed.
Post-produces projects including digitizing, editing, sound mixing, and creating and applying special effects and motion graphics.
Participates in project meetings to discuss production progress and ensure production objectives are met.
Participates in writing, casting, location scouting and equipment rentals for smaller productions.
A four-year college degree in a relevant field of study, such as film or digital communications or production, is preferred.
Three to five years' comparable experience in digital media production or post-production may substitute for a degree.
Proficient knowledge of video, audio, and graphic production processes. Familiarity with digital media workflows and audio production equipment including the various uses, capabilities, applications, limitations, and costs.
Knowledge and experience with productions involving predominantly education themes is desired.
Skills and Abilities
Proficiency with nonlinear editing systems such as Premier Pro and Final Cut Pro and Photoshop Illustrator, DVD authoring and After Effects.
Working knowledge of compressing video for different outputs.
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with clients and independently shoot scripts, direct footage acquisition, and post-produce video and audio programs that satisfy the client's needs.
Strong audio pre- and post-production skills.
Fluency in digital files and video for web post-production.
Ability to shoot with DSLR's and the latest complement of HD cameras.
Ability to deal with ambiguity, work efficiently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to learn and use web-based office applications for online collaboration and document/content management.
Experience
Three to five years' experience in a digital media production. Education background or certifications may be considered as a substitute for required experience.
Experience in short- and long-form video and audio productions from concept to completion within various budget ranges.
Familiarity with Web 2.0 technology, social media, and a willingness to experiment with new platforms is a definite plus
