Position Title: Information Disclosure Statement (IDS) Specialist
Location: Alexandria, Virginia
Work Hours: 8:30AM-5:00PM (37.50 hour work week)
Large Intellectual Property (IP) Law Firm in Alexandria, VA is seeking an individual with light patent experience to train for an IDS Specialist role.
Position Description:
The primary responsibilities of the IDS Specialist are to analyze patent correspondence, correctly interpret and complete IDS check-in procedures, and to prepare, process and electronically file Information Disclosure Statements. Will assist with sending letters/correspondence to the United States Patent and Trademark office (USPTO)and prepare Related Case filings as well as other filing documents. Responsible for assisting with preparing billing sheets, American Express forms, and general client correspondence.
Qualifications
Summary:
Excellent ability to prioritize and manage competing tasks in a high volume, high demand setting, while maintaining strong attention to the details involved in preparing IDS filings. A minimum of six months of general IP / patent prosecution experience, or six months of specialized IDS preparation and filing experience is required. The ability to follow written procedures, and effectively interpret and integrate changing regulations and special client instructions into daily workflow is essential. The selected candidate will successfully pass the firm's basic competency tests, including a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm and intermediate scores on MS Word, Excel, spelling and grammar. The ability to complete work with minimal supervision and availability for occasional overtime is required.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
