Summary
PenFed is hiring an Accountant III, Payroll & Benefits in Alexandria, VA . The primary purpose of this job is to participate in the payroll and benefits administration for the organization, in accordance with the federally regulated procedures and guidelines. Assist managers in the Payroll and Benefits department with development of new procedures, to create an efficient process compliant with all related regulations, policies and procedures.

Participate in all facets of the daily operations of the Payroll and Benefits department, ensuring the accurate completion of all section duties within established time parameters and in accordance with all related regulations; policies and procedures; and state and federal laws.
Assist in the development, implementation, and administration of department records systems and procedures; oversees, monitors, and quality controls the data entry of all payroll records.
Contribute to the development, adjustment, and/or enhance payroll systems and procedures, maintain knowledge of changes in tax laws, regulations, and institutional pay policies/compensation initiatives.
Plan, coordinate, and oversee the production and distribution of all employee tax statements and notifications as required by law.
Maintain and implement changes to the Payroll and Benefits systems, provide input into the development and changes to other automated Payroll and Benefits systems. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
Assist NCUA Examiners, external and internal Auditors during periodic examinations and audits.

Education and Experience
Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.
Bachelor s degree in accounting/finance preferred and/or job experience in the areas of payroll and benefits.
Three (3) or more years experience in payroll and benefits, preferably design and analysis of related systems and procedures. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
PeopleSoft experience preferred.

This position will not supervise employees.
