Overview
MPR is actively seeking a Lead Electrical Power Engineer for a full-time position at our Alexandria, Virginia or East Lyme, Connecticut office. The successful candidate will engage in a variety of challenging engineering projects involving aspects of design, analysis, specification, test, modification, and failure investigation of industrial power systems and equipment. Projects are associated with different types of industrial facilities, including commercial nuclear, coal, and gas fired power plants, renewable generation facilities, transmission and distribution facilities, petrochemical and steel facilities, and transmission system substations. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to project teams immediately and leverage his or her leadership experience while embracing more complicated technical project management responsibilities. Duties/Responsibilities
Skills
In-depth understanding of electricity, magnetism, and three-phase power system fundamentals
Familiarity with industry design standards, codes and regulations
Strong analytical skills with fundamental understanding of the underlying first principles of engineering
Desire and capacity to simultaneously work multiple dimensions of multiple projects
Ability to multi-task across teams of engineers and managers on various projects
Ability to manage change and take active leadership in timely decision making
Ability to lead and motivate people and encourage teamwork
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and senior management
EIT and/or Professional Engineer's license (or desire to obtain a PE in the near term)
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Master of Science, Electrical Engineering (MSEE) degree from an ABET-accredited university with at least 5 years of relevant experience required
Experience
Contributing role in projects covering specification, design or evaluation of electric power systems
Use of design and analysis tools for power systems (for example, power transformers, motors, and generators or equivalent military equipment)
Evaluation of system or equipment performance against electrical codes and standards
Mathworks MATLAB-Simulink modeling experience a plus
OTI ETAP, EDSA, or SKM Power Tools and experience performing short circuit, load flow, voltage drop, motor starting, and transient stability analyses is a plus
Operational Navy nuclear experience a plus
EMTP/ATP experience a plus
Travel
As required by project assignments. Estimated is 10%- 20%.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
