Adjunct CIV - Civil and Environmental Engineering - AL

Basic Function Teach Civil Engineering courses at the Alexandria campus of Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA):
Interested applicants must have a master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Civil Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
Duties and Responsibilities Adjunct faculty are employed to teach up to 12 credit hours in the fall and spring semester and/or up to 8 credit hours during summer session.
Teaching load is based upon student enrollment and staffing needs.
Instruction may be during the day, evening, or weekend.
Minimum Qualifications Master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Civil Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
The minimum qualifications for adjunct faculty are based on the policies of the Virginia Community College System and NOVA, which are aligned with the standards and guidelines of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
Preferred Qualifications Adept knowledge and experience teaching with a learning management system such as Blackboard.
Prior experience at the community college level teaching Architecture.
Engineering with practical experience in Site Planning and Environmental Engineering.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Adept knowledge of instructional technologies.
- Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
- Ability to work with a diverse student population.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
