IT Cybersecurity Specialist (PLCYPLN/INFOSEC), GS-2210-11/12/13

You will serve as an Information Technology Cybersecurity Specialist (PLCYPLN/INFOSEC) and be responsible for directly manages information technology projects. Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignments include:
Develop methods to monitor and measure risk, compliance, and assurance efforts Provide advice on project costs, design concepts, or design changes Review or conduct audits of information technology (IT) programs and projects Act as a primary stakeholder in the underlying information technology (IT) operational processes and functions that support the service, provide direction and monitor all significant activities so the service is delivered successfully Work with other service managers and product owners to balance and prioritize services to meet overall customer requirements, constraints, and objectives Ensure that supply chain, system, network, performance, and cybersecurity requirements are included in contract language and delivered Monitors and audits the schedule, cost, design, analysis, operational performance and/or internal security procedures of national security systems (NSS) and respective classified information, critical infrastructure, mission essential systems (MES), high value assets (HVA) or other USCG information systems Negotiate for the acceptance of agency positions on key Government-wide policy initiatives exercising independent judgment and discretion with DoD, DHS, OMB on national security systems (NSS) and respective classified information, critical infrastructure, mission essential systems (MES), high value assets (HVA) or other USCG information systems, including advance information of management's position with regard to IT cyber contract negotiations, IT cyber acquisitions, cyber security continuous diagnostics and monitoring To qualify at the GS-11 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience includes the following:
Basic experience or knowledge of Cloud Service Providers environments (AWS/AZURE/O365/Salesforce) Basic experience and understanding on how to order and coordinate Information Technology (IT) services from the various Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) organizations and/or Joint Force Headquarters - DoD Information Network Knowledge of DoD IT security services or DoD Joint Regional Security Stack (JRSS) experience Experience and/or training of NIST Cybersecurity Framework; Types of security controls Experience and/or training of Plan of Action & Milestones (POAM) OR Applicants may substitute successful completion of 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education or Ph.D. or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL.M, if related). OR A combination of appropriate specialized experience (as described above) and graduate education (as described above) that is beyond the second year of progressive graduate study to meet the qualification requirements. To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal sector. Proficient experience and knowledge of Cloud Service Providers environments (AWS/AZURE/O365/Salesforce) Proficient experience and understanding on how to order and coordinate Information Technology (IT) services from the various Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) organizations and/or Joint Force Headquarters - DoD Information Network Master level knowledge of DoD IT security services or DoD Joint Regional Security Stack (JRSS) experience Proficient experience and knowledge of NIST Cybersecurity Framework; Types of security controls Proficient experience and knowledge of Plan of Action & Milestones (POAM) Experience as a Contract Officer Representative (COR) In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirement, you must also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
