Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes evaluating support programs addressing the needs of service members and their families, developing policy and procedures regarding military community and family support programs, collaborating with stakeholders to address the needs of service members and their families, preparing testimony, reports to congress, decision briefs and/or action memos to facilitate decision making and performing a full range of first-level supervisory responsibilities, such as; assigning work to subordinates, evaluating work performance of subordinates, interviewing candidates for positions and identifying training needs of employees. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
