During the current period of mandatory telework required by the Agency's COVID-19 response, telework will be mandatory. When it is determined the Agency will be moving to the reopening phase, the expectation will be to physically return to the office at the USPTO - Alexandria, VA Campus. Telework days and any required waiting period for eligibility will be determined at that time. This position is located in the Office of the Under Secretary and Director, United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Alexandria, VA. The individual(s) selected for this position will Serve as Administrative Officer and principal advisor to the Director with a high level of delegated responsibility to act on his/her behalf for all administrative functions within the Undersecretary's Office and support to the USPTO Regional Offices (RO). Provide administrative and executive support for daily office operations and internal and external communications within the Undersecretary's Office; serves as point- of-contact and liaison with other ROs, the Office of the Under Secretary and Director, and/or other related positions at headquarters; and performs assignments that are confidential, time critical, and sensitive in nature. Prepare materials for meetings, including meeting agendas, and ensures that Director is prepared for the meetings. Maintain all relevant databases to track tasks, reports, budget, correspondence, etc. Coordinate and facilitate all logistics for travel and travel claims for the Director and RO personnel; arrange all domestic and international travel. Assist in setting up and preparing for meetings, coordinates details with procuring food and beverage for work-related events and meetings, including serving as a point of contact for fee collection. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS-09.Specialized experience includes:
Experience providing guidance and managing policies, processes, schedules and calendars for all levels of management within an organization (i.e. for a Senior Executive Service (SES); Chief Executive Officer (CEO); Vice President; President; Chief Financial Officer (CFO); Chief Officer (CO). Experience in the planning, development, formulation, preparation, execution and/or monitoring of organizational budget and procurement functions (ie., MS Office, SharePoint and Excel). Experience preparing travel requests, updating budget tracking and entering requisitions using financial management systems (i.e. CONCUR , GELCO, Momentum, SAP ERP, Peoplesoft financial, and Oracle financial). Experience using a correspondence and document tracking database (i.e. such as Intranet Quorum (IQ) ) as well as to send and receive data, assign multiple tasks for a given project, monitor task/project progress and generate reports. Ideal candidates will possess at lease three of the above OREducation may be substituted for experience at the GS-11 grade level. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
