SECURITY SPECIALIST (COUNTER INSIDER THREAT)

Specialized Experience Definition:
You must have one year specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service managing or implementing insider threat program. This includes collecting, evaluating, and/or analyzing information and reports in an effort to identify potential and/or actual insider threat activities; refers investigations to appropriate management, counterintelligence, and/or law enforcement agencies for further actions. Administers insider threat and network user activity monitoring collection requirements specific to an Agency/Component. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (for example, Peace Corps or AmeriCorps) and other organizations (such as professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, or social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification and time-in-grade (if applicable) requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Only experience and/or education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
