This position is for an Inpatient Respiratory Therapist who is an advanced level Respiratory Therapist, with advanced assessment and therapeutic skills in multiple patient populations, areas or ages groups.
The Respiratory Therapist is expected to routinely perform and interact as a professional and handle virtually any circumstance that may arise pertaining to respiratory care without supervision.
This position is part of our clinical ladder and may adjust due to candidates who apply with different levels of experience.
External candidates with experience and proper credentials will start at a RT 2 level with opportunities to progress upward on the clinical ladder (RT3 and RT4).
New graduates will start at the RT 1 level and progress on the clinical ladder after proper orientation and competences are complete.
## Requirements_Respiratory Therapist I (New Grads)_Successful completion of all clinical rotations from an approved respiratory therapy program.
Graduate of a Respiratory accredited CoARC (The Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) program.
Eligible to sit for the National Board Respiratory Care advanced practitioner exam (Registered Respiratory Therapist).
Certified Respiratory Therapist by National Board Respiratory Care.
BLS for the Healthcare Provider ( AHA, American Red Cross or Military)Valid/current license from the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Respiratory Therapist_Respiratory Therapist II_Six months in the critical care environment or one or more years of specialized training in advanced diagnostics/pulmonary rehab as a practicing Respiratory TherapistGraduate of a Respiratory accredited CoARC (The Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) program.
Registered Respiratory Therapist or greater than 10 years as a Certified Respiratory Therapist as defined by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
Advanced Certifications (ACLS, PALS or NRP) or must obtain within one year of hire.
BLS for the Healthcare Provider ( AHA, American Red Cross or Military)Valid/current license from the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Respiratory Therapist_Respiratory Therapist III_2 years of critical care experience.
BLS for the Healthcare Provider ( AHA, American Red Cross or Military)Training in multiple age populations.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
One of the following (ACLS, PALS or NRP).
In addition, must possess one of the following:
an additional Advance Certification (ACLS, PALS or NRP) or an Advanced Credential (ACCS, AEC, NPS, RPFT, CPFT or SDS) or a relevant Baccalaureate DegreePossession of a license from the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Respiratory Therapist_
